From the masthead
This issue is the map.
Everyone is still selling the wave. The models. The copilots. The “AI-powered” stamp on yesterday’s software. That was the first trade: sell the tool while the tool still felt scarce.
It isn’t scarce anymore. What is scarce is getting AI into a real business, making agents that actually do the work, and remaining visible when the next customer never opens Google.
AI isn’t the opportunity. The problems AI creates are.
The Current is for creators and operators who will act. Not for people collecting model recaps. One reader. One job: decide whether a change is worth doing something about.
This issue does not pick a company to start. The three signals below are the map, not three startups. The Opportunity Engine is the method later issues will use: name the change, name the problem, name one buyer and one offer, run a test that can fail in a week, then score it. A score that cannot say no is not a score.
Issue #002 is the first time we do that. We take AI visibility — the one a single person can test without a client — and try to kill the obvious business.
